I am Ivana, a mental health therapist and mental health aware yoga teacher with a special interest in eating disorders and traumatic stress related disorders. The love for the body goes beyond the body and if one is invited to make a loving relationship with themselves, he or she needs to look what is behind the eyes. Going in we are growing up. And to truly understand ourselves, I suggest it is necessary to feel safe to meet ourselves first. Safety comes from the compassionate and supporting relationships. That is why I believe in yoga practice as one of the self-reflecting practices. It is such a thorough and holistic practice which allows us to feel ourselves, to see who is feeling, to get closer but still to observe our being. Like a breath, through yoga, we are communicating between inside and outside bringing those experiences back in one.
I see a lot of people are in a fight with their bodies, also thoughts and emotions. To make peace with those experiences we need time and a lot of compassion. The classes and events I will offer here are focused on self-exploration using mindfulness techniques, breathing practices, physical postures and meditation. I incorporated together my therapeutic clinical experiences and the yoga education from Australia with the intention to offer a space that can hold our spiritual, physical and emotional being.
If you struggle with eating disorders or disordered eating, as well with body image issues, I invite you to join me and learn more about your mind-body connection. Also, if you are experiencing any traumatic stress related symptoms; such as sleep difficulties, difficulty concentrating, relationship difficulties, physical sensation such as pain, headaches, stomach aches – feel free to check the events and classes related to that subject.
