Pilates for beginners

Hello and welcome!

My name is Allie and I am a personal trainer and a Pilates instructor.

Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise that uses a series of thoughtful, controlled exercises to strengthen and stabilize your core.

This beginners Pilates workout will help you not only strengthen your core but also create long, lean muscles, and improve your flexibility and stability.

If you never practiced Pilates before - this is a great place to start. I will teach you the fundamentals of Pilates, slowly and surely! You will learn about the importance of our “powerhouse" - which is our core. Powerhouse is the combination of muscles that make up your core going from the bottom of the ribs to the top of the hips.

Strength and stability are important for many of our basic functional activities - lifting things, bending, climbing stairs etc. The more stable and strong your muscles are, the less prone you are to injuries.

Before we begin I would like to stress that you should always to your body, don't work in pain and always remember to breathe!
