This class is suitable for anyone who is looking to release emotional blockages and achieve the calmness and peacefulness of the mind.
The sequence works on helping to stimulate meridians and releases any stagnation. The focus is on bypassing the muscles and stretching deep connective tissues such as tendons and ligaments. Fascia, or elastic connective tissue that holds and surrounds every organ in the body, gets stretched in the Yin practice, when typically doesn't in the Yang styles of Yoga practices.
The principle is to create a stronger union between the body and the mind, being still, calm, observant, exploring and understanding your limits, and preparing yourself for a deeper meditation practice.
The poses are held longer than usual, and while holding, complete stillness, relaxation and observation of the breath is encouraged. The poses are initiated with only 2/3 of the body's edge or limit to give space for more opening and deeper relaxation.
At the end of the class you will feel calm, clear, peaceful and deeply relaxed.
