Yoga and Meditation

Trained in the style of Ancient Egyptian Yoga called Kemetic Yoga; a style of yoga that originated in the royal courts of Ancient Egypt. Primarily practiced by the Priests and Priestesses of the royal entourage, Kemetic Yoga is approached from the perspective of mental flexibility before physical flexibility. It invites the practitioner to view ones' world as a Kingdom, therefore governing from the mental posture of a Pharaoh of that Kingdom. It is breath focused, with the understanding that the only way to move deeper into the body and the "stretch" is to deepen the breath. Practicing Kemetic yoga is a precise science that includes the systematic coordination of controlled breathing with geometric movements of the body. This synthesis of movement and breath activates and moves life force through the energy channels of the body for the purpose of rejuvenating ones entire being, altering consciousness and cultivating inner-peace and stillness.
The yoga class is designed for the body to move into alignment, however, the mind-space and quality of breath is equally as important.
The approach is to reach far beyond the physical body, therefore the class is designed with the consideration of the mental, emotional, feeling, energetic, and physical bodies all in mind. The objective is not to “stretch” but rather recharge ones SHU (Life force) and allow it to flow through the body. It is the flow of SHU which ultimately provides access to flexibility.
